Objective of the SimTrade Workshop

The objective of this workshop is to introduce you to financial markets.

The workshop gives you a pedagogical and playful approach to understand the behavior of financial markets.

Different aspects of the behavior of financial markets are studied:

  • The randomness of stock market prices

  • The analysis of the news flow

  • The expectations of market participants.

Simulation-based experience

One of the features of SimTrade is the use of on-line simulations in which you can act as a trader in financial markets. Simulations place participants right in the mix of realistic market scenarios where you can practice applying concepts, theories, and frameworks to accomplish successful market outcomes.

From a pedagogical point of view, this learning experience is designed to help you:

  • Become more engaged and motivated to learn

  • Deepen your understanding of learning objectives

  • Develop confidence in your decision making and critical thinking skills.

Pedagogical dynamics

This SimTrade Workshop gives you great freedom to learn: you can start with theory in courses or with practice in simulations.

About the authors of the SimTrade Workshop

Professor Estefania Santacreu-Vasut
ESSEC Business School

« The bottom line is processing information. The market anticipates what will happen, but things never go as planned. The market reacts to rumors and adjusts to the news. How will you react? What are you going to do? »

Professor François Longin
ESSEC Business School

« The ambition of this SimTrade Workshop is to make you discover the behavior of financial markets both in practice and in theory. »
